Unaccompanied Minors
Children from the ages of 8 to 11 who are travelling alone are considered to be “unaccompanied minors”. The booking of his or her ticket must be completed through the Reservations office. The child must be accompanied by an adult when checking in for his or her flight. The accompanying adult will need to provide photo ID and complete a form provided by the airline. The accompanying adult will be required to remain in the terminal until the flight is airborne.
Please note PAL Airlines does not accept Unaccompanied Minors for connecting flights or for any flights that require a layover. Unaccompanied Minors will only be accepted for flights such as this if arrangements have been made for an authorized guardian to be present upon flight arrival to wait with Unaccompanied Minor until departure of connecting flight.
The following information is required on the Unaccompanied Minor form: name, complete address, and phone number of the person dropping the child off, as well as the same information for the person picking them up the child at the destination. It is important this information be correct, as the child will only be released to the person listed on the form.
The child will be in the care of our flight crew member until the flight arrives at the destination, or in event of flight interruption, the child will be in care of a designated Customer Service Representative. At final destination, a Customer Service Representative will escort the child into the airport to meet the family member or friend picking up the child. The receiving adult must have valid ID that matches the information on the form.
There is a service charge of $35+tax per direction for each unaccompanied minor.
Your child’s safety is our priority. Therefore, we cannot accept unaccompanied minors on flights where a weather advisory has been issued for the arrival destination. Once the weather advisory is lifted we will gladly rebook your child for the next available flight.
Please refer to our Unaccompanied Minor Rule located in the applicable tariff for detailed information and restrictions.
